I – My Fashion Show

Topic area: fashion, clothes, design

Languages focus: descriptions, use of adjectives and vocabulary about fashion and clothes, quantifiers and possessive adjectives and pronouns

Key vocabulary: words related to fashion (clothes, skirt, jeans, shirt, trousers, dress, suit, etc.)

Skills: reading & writing

Material: pictures of suits and dresses



- Make sure that you know the vocabulary studied in this unit.

- Choose your favourite designs using the following online shops and save the photos. Make every combination you want and create a new design.

- Once the clothes have been chosen, put all the pieces together and write a description of their choice: types of clothes, colours, patterns, etc.

- Complete at least three full designs.
- Upload your designs and share them in order to get the text corrected. These designs will be kept for the next project.

II – My Fashion Industry

Topic area: fashion, clothes, materials

Languages focus: descriptions, use of adjectives and vocabulary about fashion and clothes, quantifiers and possessive adjectives and pronouns

Key vocabulary: words related to fashion and human body (clothes, skirt, jeans, shirt, trousers, dress, suit; arm, leg, head, foot, hand, waist, eyes, hair, etc.)

Skills: reading & writing

Material: pictures of recycled materials



- The objective of this project is to create original and innovative designs from recycled materials.

- Brainstorm all of the types of materials and objects we normally recycle (CDs, cardboard, fabrics, paper, etc.). Write your ideas down in this post.

- Choose two materials and create an original design for a fashion show. You have to find original and useful images from Google images and other clothes or recycling webpages and write a brief description (materials used, clothes designed, etc.).
- These designs will be presented in this post. Explain the advantages and disadvantages of using recycled material.

III – My Fashion World

Topic area: fashion, clothes, geography

Languages focus: descriptions, use of adjectives and vocabulary about fashion and clothes, countries and nationalities, quantifiers and possessive adjectives and pronouns

Key vocabulary: words related to fashion and countries (clothes, skirt, jeans, shirt, trousers, dress, suit; Japan, Sweden, Mexico, French, German, Chinese, etc.)

Skills: reading & writing

Material: pictures of suits and dresses


- Take your designs from the previous project. Now you have to design new clothes using the same method. Choose a country and try to design the clothes of that nationality.

- Make sure you know the name of different countries and nationalities. You can use Google maps  and Wikipedia to help you find these words.

- Write a brief description of the design, the country and the culture it represents.
